Rudraksha Mala Beads

Rudraksha Mala is a collection of several seeds or beads that join together with a twisted cotton thread. In a mala there are 108 to 109 beads are there. There is a guru bead also. The mala is used for Chanting, wearing a neck, and also a hand bracelet.

Tree

The Rudraksha tree's scientific name is Elaeocarpus ganitrus. It is a species of evergreen tree. Trees grow to 60–80 ft. The tree yields between 1,000 and 2,000 fruits annually. This tree is found in the Himalayan region, basically in Nepal. It is also available in Indonesia and Malaysia. The seeds of the tree are called Rudraksha. The seed is covered with blue skin. So it is known as a blue marble tree. After removing the skin it looks like yellow or brown.

Beads

The seed comes from the fruit of the Rudraksha tree. Beads are also called dried stones. The beads are used for prayer and spiritual benefits. The surface has 1 to 21 lines on it. Well known is mukhis or face in English. The properties and powder depend on how many faces are on one Rudraksha. It is believed that it has the tears of Lord Shiva.
