Safe' means white. The heartwood turns a rich yellow as it ages. Its color ranges from golden yellow to deep reddish-brown. Time deepens the wood’s warm, vibrant tones.Red means Raktha Chandan is Lal. The smell base contrasted with lighter sapwood.

Sandalwood smells woodsy, warm, and softly pleasant. It sometimes carries a milky or creamy tone. The scent also hints at faint fruity notes.

The price of sandalwood depends on its age, and heartwood is most expensive. Normally, it starts from ₹20000 to ₹25000 in India for 1 kg.
Red sandalwood raw logs are ₹15,000 – ₹25,000 per kg in the Indian domestic market. Demand is high in China, Japan, and the Middle East for medicinal/cosmetic use.

This is widely used in Hindu puja in India. It has different parts like bark, oil, leaves, heartwood, and roots. All are most important. It's oil and powder in skincare and cosmetics.
